Pet Classifieds Tips & Tricks

When you want to reach as many people as possible with your pet related ads, pet classifieds are often the best way to go. Many people are constantly checking these and if you use online pet classifieds services, you´ll reach thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of potential buyers.

Classified ads free or paid ones are read only by people who are actually looking for something. In the case of pets classifieds, only people who are looking to sell their pets or who look to buy some pets will be looking at pet classified ads section of any newspaper.

Online Pets Classifieds have grown in popularity over the years. Mainly because it allows the pet sellers to showcase his collection to interested buyers from the internet community with ease. The possibility of photo inclusion of pets for sale is one critical point. Today, online pets classifieds do allow sellers to upload several pictures at once, with the cutest angles taken from all directions, buyers are usually excited to see how this pretty little thing will turn out in real life. Pets are a very emotional creature, no one will reject an adorable “Teacup Poodle” or a “Siamese Kitten”, so much that they will be carried away from a pet shop within hours after their photos were posted in the classifieds.

Try taking a full body picture of your pet and not just taken half. Most classifieds allow you to upload more than one picture, so make use of this facility as much as possible. Minimum 3 pics of a single pet is advisable. Always remember to take at least one front view image.

Most classifieds are going to be fairly limited in length. The majority of pet classifieds are required to be 100 words or less, but the length varies. You also don´t want the ad to be too long, since people will be scanning the page and longer ads are more likely to get skipped.

The idea is to get as much information as possible into as small space as possible. This is done with clever writing and use of the right words.

You can tell everything about the pet in very little words and catch the attention of the people who are actually looking for pets. Get to your title in bold letters, the breed, age and colour of your pet. Include in description any additional information or your special preferences to the pet.

While writing pet classifieds ads, make sure you never use all caps. ALL CAPS is the practice of using upper case letters for the whole title and for the whole description. All caps cause strain to eyes and reduce the readability of the ad. Even in the title, you can capitalise the first letters of the words or can go all lower case letters.

Start your pet classifieds off with an eye-catching phrase. It should instantly communicate what you are selling and should be short enough to catch the reader´s attention. To get some ideas, take a look at some other classifieds listings to see what is working for others.

The next part of your ad needs to describe what you are selling and why it is desirable. This is where you should put any information like what is the breed of animal, what colour, if it has had its shots or any other pertinent information. This is basically an elimination, where the client will decide if they are interested in the animal you are listing for sale or not.

Finally, you´ll need contact information. How do you want people to contact you? Should they ring you or write an email? Decide on this and add the information at the bottom of the ad. It can be a good idea to offer more than one form of communication.

Whether or not you include the price is up to you, but you will tend to get more valid responses if the price is there in your pet classifieds, since anyone unwilling to pay your price probably won´t bother contacting you.

Buyers will feel more trusted with your honest opinions and description about your pets. Be helpful and always leave your contact details for further enquiries.
